Privacy Policy
There is no account, no server, and no analytics. Your screenshots and the text read from them stay on your device.
The short version. Caduca reads your screenshots on your iPhone and stores what it finds in a database inside the app, on the device. Nothing is uploaded, nothing is shared, and no one — including us — can see any of it. This is why the App Store privacy label for Caduca reads Data Not Collected.
Caduca is an independent iPhone app operated by Rufus Howe. Questions about this policy can be sent to [email protected].
When you grant photo access, Caduca reads the screenshots already in your photo library. For each one it recognises the text using Apple's Vision framework, classifies it, and stores the recognised text, a category, and a reference to the photo in a database held inside the app's own storage on your device. The screenshots themselves are never copied, moved, or altered — they stay in your photo library where they were.
All of this happens on the device. No screenshot and no recognised text is transmitted anywhere, which is why sorting and search work with the phone in aeroplane mode.
Caduca itself makes no network requests. Two things involve the network indirectly, and both are performed by iOS rather than by Caduca:
No account or sign-in. No analytics, telemetry, or crash reporting. No advertising and no advertising identifiers. No third-party SDKs that collect data. No tracking across apps or websites. Nothing is sold or shared, because nothing is collected.
When you export a category as a PDF, the document is created on your device and handed to the iOS share sheet. Where it goes next is entirely your choice. If you save it to iCloud Drive or send it to someone, that is your action and your service's policy applies to it.
Caduca is rated 4+ and collects no data from anyone, including children.
If this policy changes, the revised version will be posted on this page with a new effective date. Because Caduca collects nothing, we do not expect substantive changes.
Effective 9 August 2026.
